Nestled in the Green Mountains of Southern Vermont, we are a small community of learners devoted to the cultivation of healing skill, knowledge, and presence. Conferring professional doctoral degrees in Acupuncture and Herbal medicine, preparing the next generation of medicine people.
A Unique Model
The model for education at Green Mountain College is unlike any other Chinese Medicine institution in the Country. The school operates on a low residency basis, with three five-week residential blocks each year. During this time, students live on campus, sharing meals and training in an intensive retreat-style manner, taking part in a sincere community built on Buddhist and Daoist principles of interconnectedness, loving-kindness, and the pursuit of harmony. Our campus, located amongst hundreds of acres of peaceful forest, is the ideal place for students to go deep in their learning and self-cultivation.
A Unique Approach
The vision for our school is a unique one, focused on classical forms of healing that affirm the spiritual traditions at the root of Chinese medicine. In addition to offering rigorous training in classical methods of treatment (acupuncture, herbal medicine, tuina, and other modalities), our school includes instruction in methods of personal cultivation coming from Buddhist and Daoist lineages, including meditative heart-mind training and traditional qi cultivation practices.
